On February 15, 2010, Ben Parrish achieved Eagle Scout, the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America. Ben has been active in Scouts from the age of 5 years old and achieved Eagle at 15 ½ years. His parents are David and Deloa Parrish. Ben’s Eagle project was demolishing an old shelter and replacing it with a new one in the community of Lake Margaret.
All of the timbers were harvested from cedars that had blow down in an area east of Duvall. They were hand peeled and cut to specification. The constructing of the new structure was extensive and required over 410 volunteer hours and $6,402 of donations.
Ben would like to thank his mentor John Romanelli for the extensive time and expertise given to the new shelter.
