As soon as the ceremony was completed the Cook’s took off to travel across the state to Pullman to hand the trophy over to Travis who was in preparation for WSU’s opening game of the season.

Cook helped to lead the Red Wolves to the State 2A Baseball title last season as well as to the semi-finals in the previous seasons. Some of the past recipients of this award are current professional baseball players. The award is voted on by coaches from around the State of Washington.

“I feel pretty lucky as most coaches will never get to experience winning a state championship or coaching a player of the year and I was able to do both in the same season,” stated Coach Goldsberry.
