Transition Snoqualmie Valley Hosting Potluck With a Purpose

2010-03-11 / News

Transition Snoqualmie Valley is excited to announce a neighborhood potluck series called “Potluck With a Purpose”. Each month’s dinner will address a different topic to assist us in building a more sustainable and resilient community.

To kick off the series, on Sat., Mar. 13 they will present speakers addressing local Emergency Preparedness. Our first presenter will be a representative from the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) speaking on “Strengthening Disaster Readiness Among Neighbors”. The second speaker will be Heidi Bohan, an ethno-botanist and instructor at Bastyr University. Her topic is “Emergency Preparedness Outside the Box”, on how we can become familiar with native edible and medicinal plants.

This event is open to the community, so please bring a friend and a dish to share. They will meet at Tolt Congregational Church (downstairs) at 4851 Tolt Ave. (Rt. 203) in Carnation from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. Childcare will be available starting a 7:00 p.m. – suggested donation $2 per child. The children will play upstairs at the cooperative preschool.
