Girls’ basketball finishes season at districts
The Lady Red Wolves played in two district games in post season play. In the first round of the 2A District Tournament they faced Squalicum who defeated the Red Wolves 62 to 30 moving them to the consolation bracket. In the second round they played Anacortes and was defeated 45-28 to end the season.
In the Squalicum game the team played a focused and controlled first half; however had difficulty finding the same game for the second half. A.C. Den Hartog led the Red Wolves with 17 points and five rebounds. Gabby Rouleau added six points and pulled down the most rebounds with seven. Hannah Smythe added five points, while Molly Hammontree grabbed five rebounds and Sarah Stauffer rounded out the scoring with a bucket and three assists.
In the Anacortes game the Seahawks pressed the Red Wolves to create challenges for the offense. Den Hartog led with 15 points and four rebounds followed by Stauffer who put up five. Kailyn Campbell added four points while Hammontree dropped in a bucket, pulled down three rebounds as well as three steals. Roueau also stole the ball three times.
