Duvall Finance Director, Harry Oestreich, has announced his retirement as of August 31, 2010.

Oestreich is currently a Fire Commissioner with the District 45 Fire Department and has served with the Department for over 24 years. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

City Clerk, Jodee Schwinn, said that Oestreich “seemed in really good spirits and is excited.”

She also explained that he was set to retire a few years ago after serving as the City of Snoqualmie’s Finance Director. When the Duvall position became available, “he couldn’t pass it up - it being his hometown and all.”

Schwinn said she thought he felt it would be a nice way to spend the last couple years of his career.

The River Current News appreciates Mr. Oestreich’s service in Duvall and wishes him and his family all the best in his retirement.

With a budget expected by the end of the year, the City is currently interviewing someone to fill Oestreich’s position on a temporary basis.
